Roadtrips full of freedom and adventure
The most beautiful routes for your next trip
When we were younger, we already went on road trips with our parents — across Europe and beyond. What we enjoyed most were the hidden places: little villages, mountain roads, coastal drives — the spots where you really taste local life.
That love for travelling has never left us. Now we head out on our own. Sometimes we fly to a destination and explore with a rental car. Other times we take the train through Europe, for example with Interrail. And often we travel in our own campervan. Whether it’s a week, a month, or longer — being on the road gives us the ultimate feeling of freedom.
On this page, we share our favourite travel routes — from short road trips to longer journeys across several countries. With practical tips, overnight stops, and everything we wish we had known before setting off.
Roadtrips in numbers
Whether we’re driving our campervan through the mountains or exploring hidden coastal roads with a rental car — being on the road is still our favourite way to travel. You see more, discover places others might miss, and set your own pace.
From short trips to months of travelling: these routes capture the freedom that makes travelling so special.

FAQ about roadtrips
How do I plan a good travel route?
Start by deciding where you want to go and what you’d like to see. Look up interesting places along the way — villages, nature spots, or landmarks. Try not to cover too many kilometres in one day, so you’ll still have time to enjoy the journey.
Do I always need to book accommodation in advance?
That depends. In high season or popular areas, it’s a good idea to reserve ahead. But if you like being flexible, you can also look for a place to stay as you travel.
How do I make long drives enjoyable?
Take regular breaks to explore the surroundings. Listen to music, podcasts or audiobooks. And if possible, share the driving with your travel partner.
What should I pack for a road trip?
Bring clothes for different weather conditions, food and drinks, a good map or GPS, and of course a camera to capture the best moments.
How do I find the best hidden spots?
Check travel blogs, local websites and maps. Ask locals for tips too — those are often the places where you really experience the local atmosphere.
