Norway: a country full of nature, tranquility, and unforgettable views
Norway is, for us, a country full of stunning nature and breathtaking fjords. After Tessa spent half a year as an Erasmus student in Copenhagen, we decided to continue our travels through Scandinavia together. Norway was, of course, a must. We explored the landscape by train, discovered lively cities, and were constantly amazed by the impressive vistas. Norway feels like a place where you can truly feel small amidst the grandeur of nature.
Norway is known for its impressive fjords, towering mountains, waterfalls, and vast wilderness. The country stretches from lively Oslo to the rugged North Cape, where you can witness the Northern Lights or the Midnight Sun. Norway is also the land of reindeer, wooden cabins, and a strong outdoor culture. With its excellent public transport and the sense of tranquility everywhere, it’s an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

We found summer ideal because of the long daylight hours and mild temperatures. However, autumn and winter have their own charm, especially if you want to see the northern lights or enjoy winter activities.
What is the easiest way to travel around Norway?
Many people choose to explore Norway by car, especially rental cars or campers, as it gives you the freedom to stop wherever you like. We also found traveling by train a great option: reliable, comfortable, and with scenic routes through the landscape. Public transport is very well organized, making it easy to get between cities and nature areas.
Which cities should you definitely visit?
Bergen and Stavanger are our favorites because of their charm and interesting sights. Oslo is also worth visiting, especially if you’re close to Sweden.
Is Norway expensive to travel?
Norway is generally more expensive than many other European countries, especially in cities. We kept costs manageable by cooking our own meals when possible and choosing budget-friendly accommodations.
What is the atmosphere like in Norway?
The atmosphere in Norway is calm, friendly, and down-to-earth. Norwegians are welcoming, love the outdoors, and live at a relaxed pace. Everywhere you go, you can feel the space and tranquility of the landscape.
